>> The Problem
An application was required to calculate the light intensity on road and walls for the design of lighting in roadway tunnels.
>> The Solution
A program was developed where the geometrical data of the tunnel could be entered as well as the position, orientation and
characteristics of the lamps. The program then calculates the light intensity on road and walls and it extracts other relevant data,
characterising for example flickering and dazzling. Another program calculates the spacing of the lamps to provide a smooth transition
upon entering and exiting the tunnel.
